I saw Star Trek and I got home wanting to create a space wallpaper. This is my first try doing a space image. Planets could use better texture and space could be better but I think it this final version is good. Everything done in Photoshop. Planets created using textures and adding effects. I used two nebulas [link] , [link] from NOAO/AURA/NSF

kol, your the master of mood and atmosphere again. the nebula and stars are as good as in the best space pics i have seen around the net. the planets are gorgeous too, dont worry about the textures too much. if i had to find a single downside, its that the constelation of planets doesnt look 100% convincing. but thats not necessary at all, especialy if you make it up with the poetic mood that i talkede about up there. i like it a lot, and i hope you had fun doing it and we can see some more space art from you.

I did make one, but I have GIMP instead of photoshop, and I'm pretty newb with it. I couldn't figure out how to make a nebula...

In Photoshop you use the Clouds and Difference Clouds filters to make the nebulas. Also you can use nebula images and edit them.

Awesome. I'm with BBZ too, I like the planet-less version, but both are very well done. This will replace the OS X boring-space background it comes with quite nicely :) :+fav:
